AMPO FOUNDRY STRENGTHENS ITS PRESENCE IN THE HYDROPOWER SECTOR WITH A MAJOR NEW PROJECT

AMPO FOUNDRY, a global leader in the manufacturing of assembly-ready components for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across multiple industries, continues to expand its presence in the hydropower sector with a new strategic order for a renowned European Turbine manufacturer.
AMPO FOUNDRY has recently secured a significant contract for the Cheongsong hydroelectric power plant in South Korea, where KOREA HYDRO & NUCLEAR POWER CO. Ltd. is the end user. This contract includes the production of 66 guide vanes for two Francis turbines, which will be manufactured in AMPO in collaboration with a leading machining workshop.
Commitment to Hydropower Growth
The Cheongsong project adds to a series of recent orders, including Luang Prabang, Amata, Carhuaquero, Polska, Saltwater, Rana, Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, Riva del Garda, and Pickwick, all secured within the last six months. These successes reinforce AMPO FOUNDRY’s position as a key supplier in the global hydropower industry.
Expertise in Hydropower Components
Francis, Kaplan, and Pelton turbines are commonly designed with multiple steel parts, which AMPO FOUNDRY efficiently produces using its advanced casting and machining processes. Components are delivered as finished, machined, and assembly-ready, undergoing strict quality controls in the company’s in-house PT, MT, UT, and RT testing facilities.
